Starting a Soap Business on my own
I started like other people began, watching others.
Quite literally, I remember laying on the couch with my partner and either one of my turtles, or it was my cat.
We were scrolling through YouTube late into the night and was recommend a video by "Royalty Soaps" aka "The Duchess Of Suds". She was so genuine and appeared to really enjoy making soap, that I HAD to try it.
And thus I was pushed to the world of Soap Making, completely by accident.
Doing more research into the soap making universe or the "Soapiverse" as I like to call it, I noticed so many people who were so passionate about soap.
And just like my hyper fixation, probably due to my ADHD, always causes me to do... I poured myself into it. No pun intended.

A Reason to Start.
I also used to have issues finding a soap that wasn’t too skin-drying or that didn’t leave residue on my skin.
Turning soap into little waffles was just a plus.
I was very excited to attempt to make a company low waste or zero waste.
Considering my love of the environment and turtles. It was a matter of time for me to start a company like this.
Depression doesn’t leave because you start a soap business.
Even though I was excited to start and making an immediate effort to get started, I learned very fast that even with a positive attitude and all the tools to begin your small business, Depression doesn’t just go away. This is most likely obvious to some but in the car you are unaware, it does stick with you.
Now that I am more “in the middle” of my business but the Beginning was very difficult.
I would love to do a deep dive into how I cope with mental illness while running a small business but today I will say one thing.
You can do it. Even if that little voice in your head is cruel. You are worth it. Your capabilities are bigger than you can expect.
Thank you for reading! I’ll be updating more as soon as I can.
